There is a strong New York bias in the nominees, partly because so many publications are based there and partly because the New York food gang makes a concerted effort every year to enter material. Gold twice (for a cocktail article!) and Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl of the Minnesota Monthly (?!) twice too.
